Don't be scared if you're shy. Most people participate through text, while the guests participate with live mics.
We have live voice sessions every week on the Y Press Discord. They're free. Guests join us for fun, and everyone usually has a great time. Past guests have included Sean Chiplock, the voice of Mister Versatile, and Steve Warky Nunez, the voice of Arata from To Trust an Incubus, Nuzzler from Morningdew Farms, and Versiri from Mister Versatile, and Kris Padua, voice of Viz-Goth from the upcoming Alpha Hole Prison game.
Guests usually stay for an hour to an hour and a half. We start an hour early to just chat amongst ourselves informally. After the guest departs, voice chat usually goes on a few more hours with people chatting about games or life in general.
The voice chats are a great way to have a 'safe' convention-like experience, but also away to connect to people who like the same games you do. It's casual, kind, and fun! We have a great Discord, where everyone is pretty open and chill. We make sure the rules are clearly visible, and mods are on hand to gently warn or boot any bad actors.
